Welcome to the April 2025 Edition of The Electric Link!

As we roll through Q2, we’re energized by a full calendar and exciting opportunities. This month, we attended one of the biggest clean transportation events of the year — the ACT Expo. As we continue to build momentum with new projects and community outreach lets dive into April’s highlights, including a fresh look at electrical history and what’s ahead for our team.

Project Spotlight: IKEA San Francisco EV Charger Installation

image2.jpg, Picture

Our team has been hard at work completing a full-scale EV charging infrastructure upgrade at IKEA San Francisco, supporting the company’s move toward a cleaner, electrified fleet.

Scope of work included:

  • Civil site prep, fencing, and restriping

  • Installation of new switchboard, panels, and protective bollards

  • Power connections for (8) fleet chargers and (6) DC fast charging dispensers

  • Overhead conduit runs and custom cable tray systems

  • Full commissioning and signage for all units

This turnkey project reflects our ability to execute high-volume, technically complex EV installs at active commercial sites — safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

This Month in Electrical History: April 29, 1899 – Tesla’s Wireless Power Transmission Test

On April 29, 1899, Nikola Tesla arrived in Colorado Springs to begin one of his most ambitious experiments: wireless power transmission. There, he built a high-voltage laboratory equipped with a massive coil capable of generating millions of volts — now famously known as the Tesla Coil.

Tesla’s goal was to prove that electrical energy could be transmitted without wires across long distances. While the vision was never fully realized, his pioneering work laid the foundation for modern technologies such as wireless communication, resonant inductive charging, and radio.

More than a century later, the idea of contactless energy transfer lives on in wireless EV charging systems and power over air — a testament to Tesla’s legacy in reimagining how electricity can move through the world.

Service Spotlight: The Power of Infrared Inspections

image9.jpg, Picture

Preventative maintenance is one of the most effective ways to protect your electrical systems — and infrared inspections are a key part of that strategy.

Using thermal imaging, our technicians can detect overheating components, loose connections, and electrical imbalances before they become costly failures. This non-invasive service helps:

  • Identify hidden issues early

  • Prevent unplanned downtime

  • Improve facility safety and compliance

  • Extend the life of your equipment

Ideal for facilities such as:

  • Warehouses & distribution centers

  • Manufacturing plants

  • Commercial office buildings

  • Data centers

  • Cold Storage Facilities

Infrared inspections are fast, reliable, and can be scheduled without interrupting your operations. Want to learn more or book an inspection? Reach out to our team today.

We’re currently gathering this info. I’ll have it updated by tomorrow.

💬 Client Shoutout

“Thank you for following up! Your staff did a phenomenal job, and we have not had any issues since the two on-site repairs. The scheduling was very quick, and the technicians were knowledgeable and were able to give an explanation that made it easier for us to understand. The staff caught a lot of issues that previous companies had not and they also did not rush through the jobs, which made us feel confident in the quality of the work.We have additional work that could probably be done later this year, and I will be sure to reach out back to your company when we are ready.”  – Rebecca, Bioplate Inc.
